The 2022 World Airport Awards are to be announced in a ceremony at Passenger Terminal EXPO in Paris on 16th June 2022. Regarded as the Oscars of the airport industry, a large guest attendance is expected at the 2022 awards event.

After the 2021 World Airport Awards were limited to online announcements due to COVID-19 restrictions, Skytrax are delighted that the 2022 Awards are proceeding as part of the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Paris on 16th June 2022, commencing at 5.30pm.

The COVID-19 Airport Excellence Awards introduced in 2021 will remain a key section of the 2022 World Airport Awards to recognise those airports providing the highest health, hygiene and safety protocols during the global pandemic. In 2022 Skytrax are replacing the COVID-19 Safety Certification with the long term Hygiene Certified accreditation as a key part of the process to maintain cleanliness and hygiene improvements following the success of COVID-19 Safety Ratings.


The online Airport Customer Satisfaction Survey has been in progress since 2021, and as travel is many regions has started to return to more normal, pre-pandemic levels, the survey is attracting substantially more eligible survey responses compared to the previous 18 months.

 

The World Airport Awards

The World Airport Awards began in 1999 and are regarded as the Oscars of the airport industry. Known as the Passengers Choice Awards, the awards are based on customer evaluations of airport service and facility quality standards across over 500 airports.
