The Airport Industry Awards |
|
The results are based on 12 million passenger surveys completed in a 10-month survey period, covering
over 388 airports. The survey evaluates the total passenger experience across 39 airport service and product features, from arrival at an airport, through transit and departure processes to the boarding gate.
Since 1999, this annual airport customer survey has been respected for clarity and independence, with no airport influence or bias. The World Airport Awards are the global benchmark of airport excellence, known as the Passenger's Choice Awards.

Jorge Chávez International Airport has the Best Airport Staff service in South America say customers |
Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima achieved a double success at the SKYTRAX World Airport Awards held this year in
Vienna, named as having the Best Airport Staff South America and winning the title for being the Best Airport in South America,
both of these awards decided by air travellers.
"We congratulate the management and staff of Jorge Chávez International Airport Lima on the fantastic achievement in securing both Best Airport in South America and the Best Airport Staff in South
America at these 2012 World Airport Awards. A perennial favourite with passengers, other airports in the region must be wondering
what they have to do to unseat Lima from this top position" said Edward Plaisted of SKYTRAX.
Guayaquil Airport in Ecuador achieved 2nd place, with Recife International Airport moving up to 3rd place. Congonhas Airport Sao
Paulo was in 4th with Brasilia International Airport voted into 5th place.
