The Airport Industry Awards

The results are based on 12 million passenger surveys completed in a 10-month survey period, covering over 388 airports. The survey evaluates the total passenger experience across 39 airport service and product features, from arrival at an airport, through transit and departure processes to the boarding gate. Since 1999, this annual airport customer survey has been respected for clarity and independence, with no airport influence or bias. The World Airport Awards are the global benchmark of airport excellence, known as the Passenger's Choice Awards.

Munich Airport takes top place for the Best Airport Staff service in Europe say airline customers at the 2012 World Airport Awards

Munich Airport has been named as having the Best Airport Staff Service in Europe at the SKYTRAX World Airport Awards held in Vienna at the Passenger Terminal Expo.

"Munich Airport management and staff should be proud of their achievement in winning the awards for both Best Airport Staff Service in Europe, as well as the Best Airport Central Europe. We must not forget that Munich is the 6th busiest airport in Europe and maintaining this high standard of customer satisfaction across its frontline staff must be applauded." said Edward Plaisted of SKYTRAX.

In 2nd place this year was Hamburg Airport, with Dusseldorf Airport making it an all German top-3. Helsinki Vantaa Airport achieved 4th place with Copenhagen Airport securing 5th.
