The Airport Industry Awards |
|
The results are based on 12 million passenger surveys completed in a 10-month survey period, covering
over 388 airports. The survey evaluates the total passenger experience across 39 airport service and product features, from arrival at an airport, through transit and departure processes to the boarding gate.
Since 1999, this annual airport customer survey has been respected for clarity and independence, with no airport influence or bias. The World Airport Awards are the global benchmark of airport excellence, known as the Passenger's Choice Awards.

Airline travellers rate Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport as the Best Regional Airport in North America at the 2012 World Airport Awards |
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport has been named named as the Best Regional Airport in North America at the 2012 World
Airport Awards held at the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Vienna.
"It is a constant challenge for airports to maintain product and service standards, and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport
should be delighted with this repeat win in the Best Regional Airport in North America category. Also performing well in the staff service
section this is perhaps an indication of why Cincinnati has again been successful in this passenger vote" said Edward Plaisted of SKYTRAX.
"This award is a testament to the 10,000 professionals who make up the CVG community, creating an exceptional experience for our customers. We congratulate our employees, airline and
business partners on this prestigious honor – two years in a row," said Candace McGraw, Chief Executive Officer of CVG.
San Francisco Airport achieved 2nd place, with Denver in 3rd. Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport was named in 4th and Detroit Metro Airport in 5th.
