The Airport Industry Awards |
|
The results are based on 12 million passenger surveys completed in a 10-month survey period, covering
over 388 airports. The survey evaluates the total passenger experience across 39 airport service and product features, from arrival at an airport, through transit and departure processes to the boarding gate.
Since 1999, this annual airport customer survey has been respected for clarity and independence, with no airport influence or bias. The World Airport Awards are the global benchmark of airport excellence, known as the Passenger's Choice Awards.

London Stansted Airport is named by passengers as the world's Best low-cost Airport at the 2012 World Airport Awards |
London Stansted Airport was named as the World's Best Low-Cost Airport at the
2012 World Airport Awards held at the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Vienna.
"We congratulate Stansted on winning the award for Best Low-Cost Airport for the second successive year. This is a fantastic achievement in what is an
increasingly competitive market. Passengers were positive about the core product and service at London Stansted Airport, and both the staff and management
should be justly proud of this success." said Edward Plaisted of SKYTRAX.
With more success for the UK, Luton Airport achieved a 2nd place finish, with Brussels Charleroi in 3rd. In Asia, the Kuala Lumpur LCCT featured in 4th place
with Frankfurt Hahn Airport completing the top5.
