The Airport Industry Awards |

The results are based on 12 million passenger surveys completed in a 10-month survey period, covering
over 388 airports. The survey evaluates the total passenger experience across 39 airport service and product features, from arrival at an airport, through transit and departure processes to the boarding gate.
Since 1999, this annual airport customer survey has been respected for clarity and independence, with no airport influence or bias. The World Airport Awards are the global benchmark of airport excellence, known as the Passenger's Choice Awards.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport wins the award as the Best Airport in Eastern Europe |
Moscow Domodedovo Airport was voted by passengers as the Best Airport in Eastern Europe at the 2012 World Airport Awards held at the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Vienna..
"Well done to Moscow Domodedovo Airport for their repeat success as the Best Airport Eastern Europe. Winning this award for 2 successive years is a fantastic achievement" said Edward Plaisted, Chairman of SKYTRAX.
Mr Daniel Burkard, Director External and International R elations at Moscow Domodedovo Airport said "the SKYTRAX award is one of the most important awards in our industry. The fact that we just received it out of the hands of Mr Plaisted for the
third time in a row is an obligation for us to become even better in the future. In Eastern Europe we are a leader in industry and we brought many
innovations to this part of the world, such as self-service-check-in kiosks, check-in before customs control, 100% baggage screening just to
name a few. We are now constructing the new terminal section whilst putting the final touches of the expansion of the first terminal and
construction of another runway, again for parallel use, will start very soon. Our customers have been extremely patient with us during construction
times and the fact that they have chosen Moscow Domodedovo Airport as the winner of the prestigious SKYTRAX award is the best motivation the 13,000
people working in DME can get."
Budapest Ferihegy Airport scored 2nd position in the Eastern European section, Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport finishing in 3rd. Astana Airport in Kazahkstan was in 4th place with Tallin Airport in Estonia finishing in 5th.
