Cape Town International Airport has been named as the Best Airport in Africa at the 2012 World Airport Awards held at the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Vienna.
"We congratulate Cape Town International Airport on the fantastic achievement of being named Best Airport Africa and also having the Best Airport Staff in
Africa. The staff and management should be proud of this double award after briefly relinquishing the Best Airport title to OR Tambo in Johannesburg in
2011" said Edward Plaisted, Chairman of SKYTRAX.

In an all-South Africa top three places, Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport achieved 2nd place, with King Shaka International Airport (Durban) in 3rd.
Cairo International Airport achieved 4th place with Mauritius (Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport) in 5th place.
