1. Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport
Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport is located on the western outskirts of Shanghai, about 13 kms from downtown area and about 60 kms from Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport handled 31,298,812 passengers in 2010, making it the fourth busiest airport in China. Hongqiao Airport is connected to the city's metro network, with stations at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Shanghai Hongqiao Airport used to serve as Shanghai's main international airport, but after completion of Shanghai Pudong International airport, almost all international flights were moved away from Shanghai Hongqiao airport. Terminal 2 is
four times the size of the original Terminal 1 and houses 90 percent of all airlines at the airport.

The World's Best Airports |

Hong Kong International Airport was named the Worlds Best Airport by air
travellers across the globe. A favourite of travellers worldwide, Changi Airport Singapore was a close runner up ranking 2nd in 2011. Incheon International Airport, the winner in 2009 was
also in close contention, in 3rd place. Munich Airport ranked 4th in the world and won the
Best Airport Europe title. Beijing Capital Airport continued its improvement in the global ratings, also named
Best Airport China. Amsterdam Schiphol Airport was 6th,
winning Best Airport Western Europe. Zurich Airport ranked 7th, Auckland Airport was
Best Airport Australia/Pacific and 8th worldwide.
Kuala Lumpur ranked in 9th, winning the Best Immigration category. Copenhagen Airport enters the Top 10 ranking and named
Best Airport Northern Europe. |
