Mr Howard Eng, Executive Director Airport Operations at HKIA receives the
Best Airport Dining award |
Hong Kong International Airport was named the winner of the Best Airport Dining Award for a second successive year, beating off competition from London Heathrow and Singapore Changi Airports.
The basis of passenger rating for these Award looks at a number of factors that impact on their satisfaction with airport food and beverage outlets - the choice and selection of dining
options, quality of food available, pricing and of course the standards of staff service across all of these outlets.
|
|
1. HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is located less than five flying hours from half of the world's population and is the third busiest International passenger airport
in the world. In 2010, some 50.9 million passengers travelled through HKIA, connecting approximately 160 destinations, through about 900 daily flights by over 95
airlines.
2. LONDON HEATHROW AIRPORT
London Heathrow serves some 180 destinations in more than 90 countries. London Heathrow Airport is the busiest
airport in the UK, the fourth busiest in the world (2010) in terms of total passenger traffic and it handles
more international passengers than any other airport in the world. Over 67 million passengers travel through the
airport annually on services offered by 90 airlines travelling to over 180 destinations in over 90 countries.
The start of operations at Terminal 5 in March 2008 marked the beginning of an
exciting new chapter for Heathrow. Future developments include the construction of Terminal 2A to replace
Terminals 1 and 2 and the redevelopment of Terminals 3 and 4.
3. SINGAPORE CHANGI AIRPORT
Serving more than 100 international airlines flying to some 200 cities in 60 countries, Changi Airport handles about 5,400 arrivals and departures every week and over 42
million passengers a year (that's more than 7 times the size of Singapore's population). With over 40,000 square metres of commercial space, Changi Airport is also one of
Singapore's largest shopping locations.
