KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KLIA) WINS AWARD FOR BEST AIRPORT IMMIGRATION SERVICE IN THE 2010 SKYTRAX WORLD AIRPORT AWARDS

The Skytrax World Airport Awards were announced at the first live Awards ceremony in Brussels, Belgium, as part of the Passenger Terminal Expo. Attended by top management from airports around the world, 30 different awards were presented by Skytrax Chairman, Mr Edward Plaisted.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) was named as winner of the Best Airport Immigration Service award, ahead of Beijing Capital International Airport (2nd) and Singapore Changi Airport (3rd). The Award for Best Airport Immigration Service was presented to Hj Aznan Othman of KLIA.

Commenting on the KLIA success in winning this Award, Skytrax Chairman, Mr Edward Plaisted said "This is one of those functions in an airport experience where the traveller primarily wants speed and efficiency, but what was particularly highlighted in the KLIA success for this category was the added-value features that include a friendly and interactive level of service. Something that costs no extra to provide, but this style of service certainly serves to enhance the travel experience."
